OnTrack - Settings

OnTrack has a number of settings that allows you to configure how the program behaves. The settings are available from the Home Screen by pressing the Menu key on your phone and selecting the Settings option.

The first section in settings is the Units section. This section allows you to determine what units to use for various entries. At the moment OnTrack supports selecting units for Glucose and Weight entries. For Glucose entries, the options are mmo/l or mg/dl. The mmo/l option is typically used by most countries with metric measurement while mg/dl is used in the United States. The supported weight units are Kilograms and Pounds. Note that you can change measurement units at any time, OnTrack stores values in a measurement independent fashion.

The next section allows you to specify low and high glucose values. If these values are specified and the Highlight Values option is checked, OnTrack will display out of range values in a different color in the Home Screen and in reports.

Finally the Manage Data Types section allows you to manage the available categories and sub-types. This is where you can add, rename or delete categories and sub-types for use when recording entries. Note that if you delete a category or sub-type that is in use by existing entries the program will automatically convert those entries to the default values. Thus any entries using a deleted category will revert to Unfiled and for sub-types it will revert to None.

Note that both categories and subtypes can be re-ordered by dragging and dropping them as desired. In screens where you can choose a category or subtype they will be presented in the order shown here. Finally, you can select which category or subtype is the default.

Default Times for Categories

Categories also support a feature that allows you to set time periods for which the category is considered the default for new records. For example, you can configure the category Breakfest to be the default for any time before 10AM, Lunch to be the default between 10AM and 4PM and Dinner to be the default after 4PM.

To use this feature, edit the desired category and then enable either the start time, end time or both. If only the start time is enabled, then any time that occurs after the start time will be considered valid to be the default. If only the end time is enabled, then any time that occurs before the end time will be considered the default. If both start and end time are enabled then the time must fall between the two, inclusively, in order for it to be considered the default.

The default settings for categories are evaluated in the order the categories appear in the categories list.
